Mouse Trail
The Mouse Trail feature leaves a series of fading shapes behind your cursor as you move, making cursor paths visible to your audience. This is especially effective in screen recordings and live presentations where you want to show cursor movement, not just the cursor position.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”As you move the mouse, a sequence of small shapes is drawn along the path. Each shape fades out smoothly over a configurable duration, creating a comet-like trail effect. The trail is rendered in a transparent overlay and does not interfere with any other application.

The hotkey is fully customizable in the Hotkeys section of settings.
Quick Start
Section titled “Quick Start”- Navigate to Mouse Effects → Mouse Trail in the settings window.
- Toggle the feature On.
- Move your mouse to see the trail effect in action.
- Adjust the Trail Shape, Color, and Fade Duration to your preference.
Trail Shape
Section titled “Trail Shape”The shape drawn at each point along the trail path.

Trail Size
Section titled “Trail Size”Controls the size of each individual shape in the trail, in pixels.
- Smaller values (4–8 px) produce a fine, subtle trail
- Larger values (12–20 px) produce a bold, highly visible trail
- Default: 12 px
Trail Color
Section titled “Trail Color”The fill color of each trail shape. You can choose any color from the color picker. Pair with Opacity to control how vivid the trail appears.
Opacity
Section titled “Opacity”Controls the starting opacity of each trail shape before it begins to fade out, as a percentage (0–100%).
- Default: 80%
- Lower values make the trail more transparent from the start
- Higher values make shapes fully opaque before fading
Fade Duration
Section titled “Fade Duration”How long each trail shape takes to fade to invisible, in milliseconds.
- Default: 600 ms
- Shorter durations (200–400 ms): fast, crisp trail
- Longer durations (600–1000 ms): slow, lingering trail
Trail Length
Section titled “Trail Length”The number of shape points that make up the trail at any given moment.
- Default: 30 points
- Fewer points: shorter, tighter trail
- More points: longer trail that persists further behind the cursor
Min Point Distance
Section titled “Min Point Distance”The minimum distance (in pixels) the cursor must travel before a new trail point is placed.
- Default: 3 px
- Lower values: more densely packed points, smoother trail on slow movements
- Higher values: sparser points, trail only appears during faster movements
Activation Mode
Section titled “Activation Mode”The activation shortcut can run in Toggle mode (press to flip on/off, default) or Hold mode (active only while held). Switch via the ComboBox next to the shortcut.
