Scroll Indicator
The Scroll Indicator displays a visual cue whenever you scroll the mouse wheel. This makes scrolling visible to your audience, something that’s normally invisible in presentations and screen recordings.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”When you scroll, an animated indicator appears near the cursor showing the direction of the scroll (up or down). The indicator fades out after the scroll stops.
Why It Matters
Section titled “Why It Matters”In a live presentation or screen recording, the audience sees the content moving but has no way to know you’re scrolling. They might think the page is auto-scrolling, or lose track of what’s happening. The Scroll Indicator bridges that gap.
Quick Start
Section titled “Quick Start”- Navigate to the Scroll Indicator tab in settings.
- Toggle the feature On.
- Scroll anywhere to see the indicator in action.
Indicator Color
Section titled “Indicator Color”The color of the scroll direction chevron indicator.
- Default: Deep Pink
- Choose any color that contrasts well with your typical screen content
Indicator Size
Section titled “Indicator Size”The size of the chevron indicator in pixels.
- Default: 24 px
- Smaller values (16–20 px) are subtler; larger values (28–40 px) are more visible on large displays or projectors
Opacity
Section titled “Opacity”How opaque the indicator is at full visibility, as a percentage (0–100%).
- Default: 80%
Vertical Offset
Section titled “Vertical Offset”The distance between the indicator and the cursor, in pixels. The indicator appears above or below the cursor depending on scroll direction.
- Default: 30 px
- Increase this value if the indicator overlaps with UI elements near the cursor
Display Duration
Section titled “Display Duration”How long the indicator remains fully visible after scrolling stops, in milliseconds.
- Default: 200 ms
- Shorter durations make the indicator disappear quickly after each scroll event
- Longer durations keep it visible between scroll ticks
Fade Duration
Section titled “Fade Duration”How long the indicator takes to fade out after the display duration expires, in milliseconds.
- Default: 300 ms
- A longer fade (400–600 ms) gives a softer disappearance; a shorter fade (100–200 ms) makes it snap away
Note on Hotkeys
Section titled “Note on Hotkeys”The Scroll Indicator does not have a toggle hotkey. It can only be enabled or disabled from the Scroll Indicator settings page.
