Troubleshooting
Cursor Effects Not Visible
Section titled “Cursor Effects Not Visible”Possible causes:
- The feature is toggled off. Check the corresponding tab in settings.
- The opacity or size is set too low. Increase these values.
- Another overlay application is covering the effects.
Fix: Open settings, verify the feature is enabled, and increase the opacity/size.
Effects Not Showing in Screen Recordings
Section titled “Effects Not Showing in Screen Recordings”Possible causes:
- Your recording software is using window capture instead of display capture.
- The recording is capturing a specific window that doesn’t include the overlay.
Fix: Switch to display capture (or screen capture) mode in your recording software.
High CPU Usage
Section titled “High CPU Usage”Possible causes:
- Multiple effects running simultaneously with high-quality settings.
- The Magnifier is using a high image quality mode at a large lens size.
Fix: Lower the Magnifier image quality or reduce the lens size. Disable effects you’re not currently using.
Hotkeys Not Working
Section titled “Hotkeys Not Working”Possible causes:
- Another application has registered the same keyboard shortcut.
- FriskyMouse is not running (check the system tray).
Fix: Change the hotkey to a different key combination in settings, or close the conflicting application.
Settings Not Saving
Section titled “Settings Not Saving”Possible causes:
- The settings folder has restricted write permissions.
- Antivirus software is blocking file writes.
Fix: Run FriskyMouse as administrator, or add the settings folder to your antivirus exclusion list.
