Section titled “How much does FriskyMouse cost?”FriskyMouse is available as a one-time purchase on the Microsoft Store. You can also download it directly from the Download page.
Does FriskyMouse collect any data?
Section titled “Does FriskyMouse collect any data?”No. FriskyMouse has no telemetry, no analytics, no accounts, and no internet connection requirement. Everything runs locally on your machine.
What platforms does FriskyMouse support?
Section titled “What platforms does FriskyMouse support?”FriskyMouse runs on Windows 10 (version 1903 and later) and Windows 11. There are no macOS or Linux versions at this time.
Does FriskyMouse run at startup?
Section titled “Does FriskyMouse run at startup?”By default, yes. You can disable this in the settings.
Features
Section titled “Features”Can I use multiple features at the same time?
Section titled “Can I use multiple features at the same time?”Yes. All features can run at the same time. Enable as many as you like and they layer together (for example, Spotlight, Screen Dimming, and Click Effects at once).
Do the effects show up in screen recordings?
Section titled “Do the effects show up in screen recordings?”Yes, with most recording software when using display capture or screen capture mode. See the Screen Recording Guide for details.
Can I customize the colors?
Section titled “Can I customize the colors?”Every visual feature supports custom colors. Click Effects even support separate colors for left-click and right-click.
Installation
Section titled “Installation”Do I need to install .NET?
Section titled “Do I need to install .NET?”- Microsoft Store version: .NET Desktop Runtime is required but Windows installs it automatically.
- Self-contained / Portable: No. The runtime is bundled.
What’s the difference between installed and portable mode?
Section titled “What’s the difference between installed and portable mode?”The installed version lives in your user profile and integrates with Windows (Start menu, startup). The portable version runs from any folder and stores settings alongside the executable. See Portable Mode.
