Presentations Guide
Recommended Setup
Section titled “Recommended Setup”For live presentations, you want your cursor to be highly visible without being distracting. Here’s a proven configuration:
-
Enable Spotlight
Use a gradient glow with a medium-to-large size. Choose a color that contrasts with your slide backgrounds (yellow or white for dark slides, blue for light slides).
-
Enable Click Effects
Use a ring-style ripple with an Ease Out easing. Keep the duration around 300 ms, long enough to see, short enough to not interfere.
-
Consider Screen Dimming
If your presentation has busy slides, enable Screen Dimming with a soft circular cutout at 40–60% opacity. This keeps focus on what you’re pointing at.
-
Set up Quick Switch
Create a “Presentation” profile and a “Minimal” profile. Assign them to Quick Switch slots so you can toggle between full effects and a subtle setup.
-
Test before presenting
Run through a few slides to make sure the cursor effects look good at the presentation resolution and projector brightness.
Projector Tips
Section titled “Projector Tips”- Increase spotlight size: projectors can wash out colors, so use a larger, brighter spotlight.
- Use high-contrast colors: yellow, white, or cyan stand out best.
- Bump up click effect size: the audience is farther from the screen.
