Portable Mode

What Is Portable Mode?

In portable mode, FriskyMouse stores all settings and configuration files in the same folder as the executable rather than in your user profile. This makes it easy to carry on a USB drive or run on machines where you don’t have install permissions.

How to Use It

1. Download the portable .zip from the Download page.
2. Extract the archive to any folder (e.g., D:\Tools\FriskyMouse\).
3. Run FriskyMouse.exe.

FriskyMouse automatically detects portable mode when there is no installed version present and the executable is run from a non-standard location.

Tip

Your settings travel with the folder. Copy it to a USB drive and use your configuration on any compatible Windows machine.

Limitations

• Portable mode does not register a Start menu shortcut or startup entry.
• Auto-update is not available in portable mode. Download new versions manually from the Download page.
