Click Effects

The Click Effects feature plays an animated visual ripple every time you click the mouse. This gives your audience a clear signal that a click happened, essential for presentations and screen recordings where audio cues may not be available.

Each click triggers an animation at the cursor position. The animation’s shape, color, duration, and motion are determined by the selected ripple profile and its settings. Left-click and right-click each have their own independent copy of these settings, so the two can look entirely different.

  • Profiles: 22 pre-built animation patterns across 4 categories (browse the catalog)
  • Easing functions: 30+ motion curves that control how the animation accelerates (see all)
  • Customization: color, duration, size, opacity, and direction (below)
  1. Navigate to the Click Effects tab in settings.
  2. Toggle the feature On.
  3. Choose a ripple profile from the list.
  4. Click anywhere to see the effect.

Set the fill color of the ripple animation. Left-click and right-click colors are configured independently, making it easy for viewers to distinguish between the two buttons.

  • Use the color picker or enter a hex value.
  • High-contrast colors (white on dark, yellow, cyan) maximize visibility.
  • Defaults: Deep Pink (left click), Green (right click).

Controls whether the fill color fades to transparent during the animation.

  • Enabled (default): the color transitions smoothly from opaque to transparent as the ripple expands.
  • Disabled: the color stays at its starting opacity until the animation ends.

The starting opacity of the ripple at the moment of the click, as a percentage (0–100).

  • Default: 100%
  • Lower values (50–80%) produce a softer effect; 100% gives a bold, solid start.

A scaling factor applied to the overall opacity of the ripple animation.

  • Default: 40
  • Higher values produce a more vivid ripple; lower values make it more subtle.

Controls the maximum size the ripple expands to, relative to the click point.

  • Default: 10
  • Higher values produce larger ripples, more visible from a distance.
  • Lower values keep the ripple tight around the click point.

Total length of each ripple animation, in milliseconds.

  • Default: 750 ms
  • Shorter (150–300 ms) feels snappy and responsive, good for fast-paced demos.
  • Longer (600–900 ms) is easier to see and more dramatic, good for recordings or large displays.

Controls how the animation progresses between the click point and the maximum radius.

Direction Description
Inward (default) The ripple starts at full size and collapses toward the click point
Outward The ripple starts at the click point and expands outward
Inward-Outward The ripple collapses inward, then expands back outward
